Rylee’s Story

Passionate about life, Compassionate for Others

Rylee Elizabeth Collins was fifteen years old, and a sophomore in high school when she died suddenly of an undiagnosed brain tumor. She was looking forward to her “sweet 16th birthday”, learning to drive and the many exciting milestones of young adulthood. Rylee loved dancing and was passionate about makeup. She was full of hopes and dreams, and planned to pursue a career as a professional makeup artist.

Those who knew Rylee speak of her incredible kindness and her willingness to listen to others without judging. She was self-aware and knew the meaning of friendship. She was not afraid to stick up for those in need or who needed a
little extra love. She was a bright, funny, loving spirit who brought joy to all she touched. Her love of life and others was boundless.

Rylee enjoyed giving to others, and participated in several charitable activities. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she enjoyed participating in an annual toy drive and donation event. She also walked in a memory walk for those afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease and had served food at a local soup kitchen. Even in death Rylee gave to others. Seven children received organs from Rylee and are living on for her.

While her life was short, it was a good and rich life; a life deserving of remembrance and celebration.

“There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life.”

Rylee posted these words on her Instagram account. It is with this in mind that her family and friends have established “The Rylee Fund” in her honor. The Rylee Fund will continue her passion for life and kind, giving spirit.

Rylee was born in Buffalo, NY and lived several years in the community before moving to Norfolk, Massachusetts. She considered Buffalo her home town and spent her summers there with family. Giving back to the Buffalo area would be important to Rylee and is the intent of her Fund. Your support in the Fund’s efforts to continue Rylee’s legacy are greatly needed and appreciated.
